BEAUTY WORKSHOP "FESTIVE" MAKEUP CLASS WITH BENEFIT COSMETICS, GHD INDONESIA AND SEPHORA INDONESIA (11-12 JULY 2015)

Hello you! A few month's ago i got an opportunity to work together with Benefit Cosmetics Indonesia, Sephora Indonesia and Ghd Hair Indonesia. A one day Makeup and Hair-do workshop for a night look. The event took place in Sephora Plaza Indonesia on 11-12 July 2015. A full of two days to learn makeup and hairdo.

First of all, I would like to say a huge thank you *again* for this opportunity to work together with three amazing brands. The teamwork is amazing! This is my second time working together with Benefit Cosmetics Indonesia and i have so much fun working together. This time we collaborated with Ghd Hair Indonesia and Sephora Indonesia. The event was held in Plaza Indonesia in Sephora boutique which is the best spot ever because it is close to home! 

What makes this workshop different? I am a big fan of workshop! Seriously, back in the days i used to attend workshop a lot and I realized, the workshop could be more fun if they can provide a short lesson in hair-do or up styling, something easy to complete the whole look. When I heard ghd Indonesia was one of the brand that will be there, i said yes!

There are a lot of question on my background with makeup and hairdo, i know some people are unsure and curious enough how i am in makeup, what is my potential, where i study and all those good stuff. Before i start this post, let me share with you a tiny bit so the questions are all answered. I have always love makeup since high school to be precise, i had to do my makeup by myself with the help of a teen vogue magazine for my prom night. I realized that makeup express the natural beauty more. Did I go to a special makeup school? Nope! I am a strong believer that to learn is simply by learning from mistakes and failure. It is a great teacher. However, i did have a few short course concentrating on the eyes with a bridal makeup theme from a friend of mine who had been working in bridal for years! I have the basic of contouring highlight face correcting technique but as for the eyes, i must say it is pretty hard isnt it? so is the eyebrows. So to answer, the fix answer to your question is, i never attend a proper makeup school due to my design schedule, I learn it based on experience and a short course from a friend of mine in bridal. As for hair-do, yes i am still new with this but with the result i have achieve within a few weeks, i am very satisfied. Again, i learn it from a friend of mine who works in bridal. All i need are the basic technique and from there, i practice it everyday hence the numerous eye makeup on my IG.

Alright, so i hope that clears everything away, i am happy to see how my technique in makeup and hair-do grow and i am happier to be able to share them with everyone. That is one of the main reason why I write and share about my findings in beauty. So back to my story, if you want or looking for makeup class for one day that is fun and full of laughter, do not ever miss Benefit Cosmetics Indonesia workshop! This beauty workshop we paired up with the amazing brands of ghd Indonesia and Sephora Indonesia. 

The class was a lot of fun with the decoration and the help with the beauty advisor from Sephora. There are two different dates and both dates are packed! Some walk-in customer really show their intention to learn makeup and it is always a pleasure to help a sister in need! The class is limited for 8 people only. Yes i didnt mention it when i was posting it but it was limited to 8 and on Sunday, we exceeded but of course we are always welcome people to learn. 

The first day, which was the 11th July 2015, it was on a Saturday, the workshop area was decorated with pink equipments and balloon! I love pink so much. Of course each participant will have their own space completed with the product, mirror and brush. The workshop started with me starting with the model and taking it step by step so everyone can follow it. I forgot to mention that the price was IDR 500.000 / Pax/ session which is amazingly affordable for 2 lessons of makeup and hairdo? why not? and of course redeemable with Benefit or Ghd products. 

These two ladies below, were some of the participant on the day, they are in their teen years and of course those years were the moments when we started to take care of our appearance so it was an honor to be able to work and help these two lovelies on their makeup. Applying makeup is not as easy as it looks and i always tried my best to be detailed in teaching makeup class. The result? they both look amazing! Natural but emphasize certain feature on their complexion. 

This is me explaining how to contour, the basic contouring for everyone, i know how hard and confusing it is for beginner so i tried to make things as simple and effective as before. I used the amazing hoola bronzer from Benefit Cosmetics. This is a must have for everyone, whether you are a beginner or a pro, the matte warm bronzer just work with almost all skin tone to sculpt the face. 

Then moving on to the hair-do, i must say, not a lot of people like hair-do. The first time i tried it on my own hair, was a struggle. I am using ghd indonesia eclipse hair styler. This styler is worth every penny. It is so smooth, it helps to ease the curling (yes curl with a hair straightener) so much easier and faster. The handle are protected from the heat so you will not burn your hair. The smell is amazing and it has this shiny silky look on your hair. 

Investing in a good straightener is one best way to make life more efficient. With a straightener, you can make a lot of up do or hair styles, you can curl (the basic of all hair up do), you can do a natural wave or you can go for a sleek straight hair. 

It took longer for the lovely girls to get the technique but it is alright, practice makes perfect. I used to be on their position too! but not anymore. 

So, moving on to the next and last day! Same spot and this day, i decided to do a full makeup demo first and i think it is nicer for the participant to watch, and play around with makeup and learn it by themselves through trial and test. After all as i said, mistakes are the best teacher. I arrived pretty early on the venue as usual, as i hate being late! and met Dian. As usual, we joke and laugh before the event start. I always love working with people who are fun and we just know the chemistry together to liven up a situation. 

One of the participant arrived so early, i am so happy! She called me and introduced herself. Thank you for coming early! I hope to see you at another workshop. So we were preparing and laughing before the workshop begin. Everyone was very humble and friendly. 

It is full house on Sunday, the amount is exceeding the chair but that doesnt stop them from learning!

They put their whole attention to the demo and as usual i started with the base complexion:

1. The porefessional primer

2. Hello flawless oxygen liquid foundation

(the right foundation for beginner because of the build-able characteristic)

3. Hello flawless cover up powder

4. Boo-ing concealer

Then to the brows, i used the trustee Brow-zing! Use the wax to shape and fill it in with the wax, then top it off with the powder so it wont slide away. I applied the Stay dont stray eye primer then use the natural shadow kit. When it comes to eye makeup, it is all about blending! 

Then moving onto the eyeliner, they have a lot of eye liner but the one that i go to all the time is They're Real Push Up liner, why? First, it is a gel liner that is in a form of a pen so it is easier for me to hold. Secondly, it is water and smudge-proof. Thirdly, the tip is flexible but sturdy! so if you are shaky dont worry, it will still create a single straight line.

For mascara, I go for the trustee They're Real and Roller Lash mascara, as I also use them at on my daily makeup. Combine these two to make a longer lashes! If you have a thin invisible lashes, go for these two, you will not regret this!

Then of course, moving on to the contouring with Hoola bronzer and Majorette blush to give a natural flush on the cheeks, lastly, on the lips, I applied Posie Tint for lips and cheeks as the base in red color then top it off with benebalm in red because it is a balm with a sheer and buildable color. Since the eye colors are natural so i decided for a more vibrant yet still natural lips.

Once the makeup is done, it is time for the ghd Hair Indonesia demo!

I am still using the ghd Hair Eclipse Styler, a styler with a lot of function and make the whole hair curling easier and faster! I love how it has a smooth plate that doesnt make the hair stuck, it also make the hair smell nicer and shinier. It has a heat protectant handle so you wont burn you finger holding it. Some of the participant are afraid but they got used to it and able to create some curls with a straightener which is a good starting point!

Overall, i am satisfied with the events for two days. It was a big success for me seeing all participant are interested and willing to learn. What makes me happy is the result of their makeup and hair. They look amazing. I also love working together with these three brands as they are full of teamwork and understanding. I dont know what the future holds but i am thankful for this opportunities and I am glad and happy once again to be a part of this amazing and fun workshop and to be able to share and teach everyone who attend. I know some of them have requested a few classes from me but i am so happy that they are able to attend!
